Case Study 1 - Team Working

This public sector client in a demanding service function was initially looking for a facilitated workshop in order to bring together a new management team. Following a full proposal, Agents of Change was engaged to deliver the workshop which included diagnostic assessments, facilitated discussions, formal delivered sessions, and action planning to transfer the conclusions into positive action in the wider team.

The management team set themselves a stretching target for making significant improvements to internal procedures.

As they began to implement their plan the management team asked for help in facilitating their planning meetings in order to make best use of time and produce a strong implementation plan. Over a few sessions, a clear mission and supporting values were agreed which then prompted a series of sub projects to align current procedures to this clarified mission.

Agents of Change were then asked to put forward a proposal to deliver a communication event to launch the new vision and engage the wider team in making it successful. Following a free consultation session the first part of the day was constructed as a celebration of achievement, a launch of the vision by the management team, and a Question and Answer opportunity for the whole team, blended with activities to promote interaction with team members who did not normally work together. The second part of the day was an interactive high energy event which acted as a fun finale to the working year.

Following the successful launch event Agents of Change has provided one to one coaching support at a strategic level and project support to the manager tasked with managing the project. One of the goals that Agents of Change has applied to this, as on other projects, has been to provide techniques and structures to enable the managers to become increasingly self sufficient in this area.

The project is currently on target to deliver later this year.   

Case Study 2 - Management Coaching

This experienced General Manager of a busy hotel asked for a management refresher programme with the particular goal of improving communication with departmental managers and freeing up time to manage.

The proposal Agents of Change put forward was a series of half day one to one coaching sessions. After session one the manager immediately put into effect the principles of successful delegation discussed and was able to move rapidly to improve the performance management culture of the hotel. The result, in a short period of time, was a sense of empowerment amongst departmental managers illustrated by their suggestions for improving standards further in their respective areas.
